Fox Taxidermy Poses

Red Fox

Standing on Log

The standing on log pose captures the natural alertness of a fox in its woodland habitat. This classic position shows the fox standing tall on a realistic log base, head raised and ears perked forward.

The pose demonstrates the fox’s natural grace and balance while creating an impressive display piece suitable for any cabin, living room, store, office, or nature center.

All-Taxidermy can customize this mount with specific log types, positioning angles, and facial expressions to achieve maximum lifelike realism.

Cross Fox

Running, with Custom Habitat

The running pose brings dynamic energy to any display, showing the fox in full stride with legs extended and tail streaming behind.

This action-oriented mount captures the fox’s legendary speed, agility, and hunting abilities. Custom habitat options include various terrain bases, (e.g. dirt, grass, moss, and environmental elements like rock).

All-Taxidermy specializes in creating these complex poses with precise anatomical positioning for authentic movement representation.

Grey Fox

Hunting

The hunting pose showcases the fox’s predatory instincts. The fox’s typical hunting behavior is a pouncing technique that starts by crouching to camouflage themselves before leaping up with great force and landing on their prey, as demonstrated by the Grey fox pictured here.

A crouching or pouncing positioning emphasizes the fox’s natural hunting behavior and can be customized with specific prey items or hunting scenarios (e.g. fox pursuing a squirrel). All-Taxidermy ensures anatomical accuracy in muscle tension and body positioning for realistic hunting displays.

Silver Fox

Resting on Log

The resting pose presents a more peaceful side of fox behavior, showing the animal in a relaxed position while maintaining natural alertness. This pose typically features the fox lying or sitting on a log with a comfortable but attentive posture.

This Silver fox is a beautiful representation of what your custom fox mount can look like. Choosing this positioning allows for detailed appreciation of the fox’s beautiful fur patterns and facial features. Our taxidermists can customize the resting pose with various log styles and positioning options to create a lifelike display.

Fox Taxidermy by Species

Red Fox

The red fox is the most recognizable fox species, known for its vibrant russet-colored coat and distinctive white-tipped tail. These foxes display beautiful color variations from deep red to golden orange, with black markings on the legs and ears. Their luxurious fur and classic fox appearance make them popular choices for taxidermy displays. All-Taxidermy can enhance the natural beauty of red fox mounts through expert preparation techniques that preserve the rich color variations and soft texture of the coat.

Cross Fox

Cross foxes are a color variant of the red fox, distinguished by the dark cross pattern across their shoulders and back. This unique coloration combines red and black fur in striking patterns, creating a more dramatic appearance than standard red foxes. The cross pattern varies between individuals, making each mount unique.

Gray Fox

The Gray fox features a salt-and-pepper gray coat with russet highlights along the sides and legs. These foxes are smaller than red foxes and have a distinctive black stripe running down their tail. Their subtle coloration and compact build create elegant, understated displays. Gray foxes are known for their tree-climbing abilities, making them suitable for unique, full-body poses of them climbing or resting on a tree branch, for example.

Marble Fox

Marble foxes are captivating members of the Fox family, characterized by unique mottled coats that blend white, gray, and darker markings in irregular patterns. Each marble fox has distinctive markings that create an almost artistic appearance. These foxes are relatively rare, making them prized for taxidermy displays. The varied coloration requires skilled preparation to preserve all the subtle color transitions.

Silver Fox

Silver foxes are melanistic red foxes with dark, almost black coats highlighted by silver-tipped guard hairs. The silver fox’s dense, dark fur represents the pinnacle of fox coat quality. These mounts create dramatic, elegant displays that showcase the fox’s premium fur quality.

Arctic/White Fox

Looking for additions to your Arctic taxidermy collection? Arctic foxes display pure white winter coats that provide camouflage in snowy environments. These compact foxes have shorter ears and legs compared to other fox species, along with incredibly dense fur for insulation. All-Taxidermy takes special care in preparing Arctic fox mounts to maintain the brilliant white coloration and showcase the dense, luxurious texture of their winter coats.
