The Bluegill is native to Midwestern and Eastern freshwater lakes and ponds from the Great Lakes south to Florida. This popular fish species typically ranges anywhere between 6-10 inches.
In terms of coloration, the Bluegill features a distinctive copper-orange breast coloring and compact, pan-shaped bodies that make for striking wall displays. Their prominent dark ear flaps and subtle vertical barring create a beautiful contrast when properly preserved and positioned as a taxidermy wall mount. It’s no wonder the Bluegill is a fisherman’s favorite to display on their wall!

These fish typically measure 8-12 inches and feature stunning golden-yellow sides featuring 6-8 dark vertical bands that create natural artistic appeal.
Since they are schooling fish, a taxidermy idea we have is to group multiple perch in swimming formations to capture their natural schooling behavior and distinctive two-part dorsal fin.

The Largemouth Bass is an iconic fish thanks to its large mouth that extends past the eye and its dark lateral line that runs along its sides.
